ICOThe International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) is currently offering Fellowship Program for students from developing countries. There are about 60 fellowships available in ophthalmology for successful candidates. The program is aimed to support the successful candidates to develop their practical skills and broaden the perspectives on the field of ophthalmology. The fellows will have a 3-month fellowship program.

Scholarship Provider: The International Council of Ophthalmology

Destination Study: The fellowships can be taken in some different countries including Turkey, Italy, Spain, Austria, Brazil, UK, Germany, USA and Australia

Country of Applicants: Applicants from developing countries are welcome to apply

Level/Degree: The program is provided for young ophthalmologist with training in several subspecialties in Ophthalmology

Eligibility:

To be considered, the applicants must:

  • Complete the residency training before applying
  • Passing the specialist examination in ophthalmology
  • Be under 40 years old
  • Return home as the program has finished
  • Be fluent in the language where the program is taken

In addition, special consideration will be given to applicants with ICO Basic Science, ICO Clinical Sciences, and ICO Advanced Examinations for Ophthalmologists as well as applicants from Members of the ICO countries.

Scholarship Value: The successful fellows will get up to S$6000 covering travel and living costs for the period of the program (three months)

The application deadline for current offers is September 30, 2013

How to Apply:

To apply for the program, the applicants must provide the documents below:

  • Scanned copy of Passport
  • Scanned copy of Specialists Examination Certificate
  • Scanned copy of Diploma in National Board, Master of Surgery, or equivalent
  • Chair’s Recommendation and Resident Confirmation Letter
  • Previous Chair’s Recommendation
  • Letter of Recommendation

Completed application can be submitted online by uploading the required documents stated. The scanned documents must be in forms of jpg, pdf, doc, docx, and png limited up to 20MB. ZIP files are not allowed for this program.
